Funeral/Memorial Service Flyovers

Requests for flyovers for funerals and memorial services are not processed through National Guard Bureau Public Affairs. Individuals requesting flyovers for funerals or memorial services should contact Army or Air Force Mortuary Affairs offices directly:

Humanitarian Donations

The Denton Program allows private U.S. citizens and organizations to use space available on U.S. military cargo planes to transport humanitarian goods, such as clothing, food, medical and educational supplies, and agricultural equipment and vehicles, to countries in need. For assistance in transporting humanitarian donations through the Denton Program, please contact United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Transportation of Non-DOD Goods

Title 31 of the United States Code (The Economy Act) prohibits DOD from transporting non-DOD goods and people unless (1) it is in the national interest, (2) commercial transportation is not available, (3) the request is sponsored by a Federal government executive agency, and (4) the sponsoring agency agrees to reimburse DOD for the cost of transporting the goods or people.

The National Guard offers community support through channels outside of public affairs. The following programs are other ways in which the National Guard reach out and have a positive impact on the lives of our children, families and neighbors.
Aerial Support Requests
Non-Aviation Asset Requests
Non-aviation Department of Defense assets include military bands, color/honor guards, exhibits and speakers. The Department of Defense is able to support broad based civic organizations or organizations whose primary purpose is to stimulate patriotism, promote public understanding of the necessity of national security, or foster public appreciation of our national heritage, and not promote the organization's private objectives. Exhibit Program
The exhibit is used at major trade shows and conferences and is deployable to all 54 states and territories. Staffed with National Guard personnel and informative fact sheets, the exhibit provides the opportunity to educate and inform thousands of potential conference attendees.
