Freedom of Information Act Request Service Center 

The USSOCOM FOIA Requester Service Center is the initial point of contact for FOIA requesters to receive status updates and appropriate information about their requests at USSOCOM.

 

The FOIA Requester Service Center was established in compliance with Executive Order 13392

  

Initial FOIA requests may be submitted by completing the USSOCOM E-FOIA request form at the below link, by FAX at (813) 826-5482, or by postal mail at:

DoD Regulation 5400.7-R, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Program

This Regulation is reissued under the authority of DoD Directive 5400.7, "DoD Freedom of Information Act Program," September 29, 1997. It provides guidance on the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act, as amended by the "Electronic Freedom of Information Act Amendments of 1996."

DoD Directive 5400.7, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Program

This Directive: 1. Reissues DoD Directive 5400.7 dated September 9, 1997, to update policies and responsibilities for the implementation of the DoD FOIA Program under section 552 of title 5, United States Code. 2. Continues to authorize, consistent with section 552 of title 5, United States Code, the publication of DoD 5400.7-R, the single DoD Regulation on the FOIA Program. 3. Continues to delegate authorities and responsibilities for the effective administration of the FOIA program.
