How do I register?

You must register for the R&E Gateway to access controlled information, documents, and TRs. Your options include:
Registering with your DoD Common Access Card (CAC) with seamless registration (here).
Registering without a DoD CAC (here)
For more information, please visit the DTIC Registration Page.

How do I add DoD Root Certificates?

To register your CAC, ECA, and PIV, you first need to download the DoD Root Certificates into your browser. Follow the instructions for downloading the DoD Root Certificates at http://www.dau.mil/faq/pages/dodcerts.aspx. Next, register with your PIV at https://reg.dtic.mil/DTICRegistration. Select that you are registering with a PIV and follow the instructions.

If you are a government employee, you will be verified in the OPM verification database. If your credentials are found, you will get a notice stating that you were found and to continue.

If you receive a message stating that “you were not found,” please disregard and continue the registration process. However, once you complete the registration application and submit it, please send DTIC a copy of your SF50 or have your Human Resources (HR) representative send an employment verification letter on agency letterhead. If you send an SF50, please black-out everything except for your name and the government agency name. If your HR representative is sending an employee verification letter on agency letterhead, please ensure that your full name is noted along with a statement in the letter that you are currently a government employee of that agency (Agency Name). Attach the copy of your SF50 or HR employment verification letter in an email and send to dtic.belvoir.us.mbx.dtic-access@mail.mil or fax to 703-767-9459.

Where can I find my DTIC login ID?

Your DTIC login ID was sent to you via email when your DTIC application was approved.

After submitting your application to DTIC, you will receive a confirmation email notifying you that your application has been received. If you have not received that confirmation email, your application may not have been submitted properly. If you requested access to information that is classified, DTIC may be waiting on the approval of your government sponsor and security officer.
