U.S. Army Reserve

About Us "CAN DO!"

Soldiers carry equipment after a training exercise We are headquartered in Coraopolis, Pa., and we have mission command of all Army Reserve logistical units from Maine to Pennsylvania; comprising four major subordinate commands and one direct reporting unit, totaling 89 units of approximately 8,000 Soldiers.

We are the leading Army Reserve's "deployable model" for military operations around the world, designed to address sustained military operations, missions and the nation's emergency rapid response.

We are the U.S. Army's first Expeditionary Sustainment Command, with deployments to Iraq from 2007-2008, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Kuwait from 2012-2013, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

When deployed, the headquarters provides command and control of sustainment units for a combatant theater commander. We have earned the Meritorious Unit Commendation for displaying exceptionally meritorious service while deployed.

Mission:
The stateside mission of the 316th ESC is to provide mission command of Army Reserve combat service support units (logistics).

We are the U.S. Army’s first transformation-era modular ESC unit, and the first to deploy to Iraq. We transformed from a traditionally structured force to one designed to better address sustained military operations and missions and the nation’s emergency rapid response.
