Find a Provider
Service members, Veterans, and non-military individuals, along with their family members, can play active roles in finding providers for hearing health. Care is available through a number of resources. Locating the right provider or treatment center depends on personal circumstances. The resources provided are designed to help explore individual patient care options.
Individuals who have documented forms of compensable service-connected auditory injuries can receive care through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, or VA. For those not eligible for VA care, treatment may be available through organizations such as TRICARE, local audiologists, hospital centers, non-profit organizations, or university healthcare systems.
Locate a VA Medical Facility
For individuals eligible for care through the VA, its interactive online tool can locate the nearest VA medical facility in their area. The site provides a map of facilities across the United States and its territories and protectorates.
The Web site also provides online tools to apply for healthcare benefits and includes comprehensive descriptions of VA benefits that are available to Veterans and their families.
TRICARE Coverage
TRICARE beneficiaries may be eligible for diagnosis and treatment through the Military Health System, or MHS. The MHS can provide hearing diagnostics and order hearing aids through their audiological services. Through its otolaryngology departments, the MHS can provide implantable devices, including cochlear implants. Comprehensive hearing health services can be obtained through service medical centers at:
- Tripler Army Medical Center
- Madigan Army Medical Center
- Naval Medical Center San Diego
- San Antonio Military Medical Consortium
- Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgery Center
- Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and
