The commanders of South Pacific Division, Los Angeles District, Sacramento District and San Francisco District joined representatives from more than a dozen federal, state and local agencies at a signing ceremony for the Silver Jackets charter September 9 to demonstrate their commitment to reducing flood risk in California. Under the lead agency California Department of Water Resources, the Silver Jackets charter is the culmination of several years of hard work and showcases the willingness of these agencies to increase communication, coordination, collaboration and cooperation to reduce flood risk.

At the invitation of the Chilean Army’s Ground Operations Command (COT), a delegation from the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), South Pacific Division, visited Chile for the first time to conduct training activities based on its Urban Search and Rescue Program, which the Military deploys in emergencies and disasters.
