Major General Kevin B. Schneider, USAF

Major General Kevin B. Schneider was born in Bremerton, WA.  He was commissioned in 1988 from United States Air Force Academy and earned his pilot wings from the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program. He attended the F-16 Weapons Instructor Course and later served as an F-16 Division instructor pilot at the Weapons School.

His command tours include command of the 80th Fighter Squadron at Kunsan, Korea, the multi-national 80th Flying Training Wing at Sheppard AFB, Texas, and the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing in the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility.

Schneider’s graduate education focused on National Security and Strategic Studies at Marine Corps War College, Quantico, VA.

His staff assignments include aide to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and Director of Air Force General Officer Management.  He also served as an Action Officer in the Joint Staff J5, the Assistant Deputy Commander, U.S. Air Forces Central Command, and the Assistant Vice Commander, 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force, and the Chief of Staff, U.S. Pacific Air Forces.

Schneider is a command pilot with more than 3,800 flight hours and 530 combat hours flown during operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit with two oak leaf clusters, Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Aerial Achievement Medal with six oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, and the Air Force Achievement Medal.
