VA Healthcare Benefits

The VA provides five years of comprehensive cost-free healthcare, which includes audiology care, for Veterans who served in theater or combat operations after November 11, 1998. Under the “Combat Veteran” authority, the VA provides healthcare services for any conditions possibly related to service in the theater of operations.

The five-year enrollment period begins on the discharge or separation date of the service member from active-duty military service, or in the case of multiple call-ups, the most-recent discharge date.

Enrollment for VA healthcare can be completed online and/or by following these steps:

• Identify a nearby VA Medical Center
• Complete VA Form 10-10EZ
• Submit VA Form 10-10EZ online, through the mail, or in person
• Learn more about the healthcare benefits offered by the VA
• Take your DD-214 separation document on your first VA Medical Center visit
• Locate a local VA OEF/OIF/OND  team to help complete and file VA forms, if needed, and
• Track and manage your health through the VA’s MyHealth eVet Web site.
