Request a Ceremony

There are a variety of venues and opportunities to conduct public ceremonies on Arlington National Cemetery.  Below is a brief description of these ceremonies. Please read carefully to insure you request the appropriate ceremony for your group to avoid delays in scheduling.

All ceremonies are scheduled based on the discretion of Arlington National Cemetery. All ceremonies are scheduled based on time, location, appropriateness and availability. They are also subject to cancellation or rescheduling due to the addition of official U.S. Government ceremonies, inclement weather, or other unforeseen occurrences.

Public Wreath Ceremony

Public Wreath Ceremonies are ceremonies conducted at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Public Wreath Ceremonies are limited to one per group per day with a maximum of four participants in the ceremony. The wreath for the ceremony is provided by the participants.  If you wish to schedule a Public Wreath Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier please select this option.

Honor Flight

By definition, Honor Flights are trips scheduled by the Honor Flight Network to bring veterans to Washington D.C. to visit their respective war memorials.  In addition, Honor Flights often travel to Arlington National Cemetery to witness the Changing of the Guard and pay their respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Special access is granted to these veterans based on age and mobility challenges. Other groups conducting similar trips may be granted special access on a case by case basis. If you are an Honor Flight or a similar group wishing to request special access please select this option.

Other Ceremonies

Other Ceremonies are those events conducted elsewhere on the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery. This could include family members holding a memorial ceremony at the grave of a loved one, to a veterans group holding a ceremony at the memorial marker honoring their unit or their fallen comrades.  Please use this option to request any ceremony that is neither a public wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier or a special access request for an Honor Flight.
