Partnering with Naval
Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology
Division (NSWC IHEODTD)
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal
Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD) has entered into a
series of partnerships with Universities. The rationale for these partnerships
is to collaborate for the purpose of utilizing existing physical and
intellectual capability more effectively. Such an initiative will expedite
commercial assessment of federal intellectual property, as well as research and
development by providing direct access to unique testing facilities and
world-class scientists and engineers. Integral to this collaboration is the
creation of new business processes on how best to preserve the U.S. defense and
commercial industrial base in the energetics industry.
Partnerships with Universities
IHEODTD envisions a partnership whereby each organization would: Provide mutual support to extend capabilities for their respective programs, Participate jointly in proposals for increasing each university's technology-related capability on both the State and Federal level, Include investigators from each organization, either individually or in teams, so that they could pursue, within the peer review process, specific research projects, and Seek natural and non-conflicting spheres of interest among participants that allow for the shared use of facilities and infrastructure that will build on ongoing activities.
