How does your job support USSTRATCOM and our missions?
As a Human Resource professional my responsibilities involve providing support to the men and women, within NAOC and USSTRATCOM, locally as well as the JFCCs. Also, I am a certified National Military Command System watch officer, which allows me to directly operate in providing strategic deterrence and the command's number one priority.
What do you find most rewarding about your work at USSTRATCOM?
I find it rewarding to work in one of the most important combatant commands and daily interacting, learning and engaging with service members from each component of the Department of Defense. I value being recognized a critical member of the team and knowing each day, I make a difference in our unit's morale. In addition, my current position with NAOC offers a direct correlation with my Associates Degree in Homeland Security.
What has been a challenge for you regarding your work at USSTRATCOM and how have you overcome that challenge?
Among the most challenging positions at USSTRATCOM has been my training as a NMCS watch officer. These duties are inherently different from the responsibilities of a HR professional. I leaned on the support of my teammates and training staff in making a successful transition.
What has been your most memorable experience in the military?
My most memorable moment was when I became a NCO and my promotion ceremony was in Mosul, Iraq.
What is the one piece of information or advice about working at USSTRATCOM that you'd pass on to new members of the USSTRATCOM team?
Enjoy and embrace the opportunity to learn from the different service members and cultures. These are experiences that will continue to mold and assist in your continued development.
What are your goals?
My main goal is to complete my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. I know this educational experience will provide long term benefits in development as a Soldier and contributions to the unit, as well as post-military career.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Recently, earning my Army Physical Fitness Badge for Excellence, as well as earning an Associate Degree in General Studies and Associates Degree in Homeland Security.
What do you like best about Bellevue and Omaha?
I like that Bellevue and Omaha is a great place to raise a family with good school districts. I enjoy coming to work each day and the support of my unit and teammates. It's clear they value my contributions and service.
