[close] We live at the turn of the millennium, at fateful times. The life, business, world - all change rapidly in almost kaleidoscopic pace. Paper photos and books are out, digital ones are in. Real stuff is sometimes superseded by the virtual one. High-tech is on the rise, while traditional industry is on retreat, some - redundant. Shipyards, metal works, even space exploration don't look that sexy anymore, when compared to social networks, chats, apps and similar stuff. Businesses and economics change, some argue for the better, but can be for the worse, as evidenced by waves of popular unrest and economic/social justice protests throughout the world. How ideal are our societies or maybe a thing or two or three require an adjustment? I'm sure many have opinions on these things, which we can exchange here. The planet is still unable to overcome the results of the worst global financial crisis. Yet, the Forbes billionaire's list is growing and alongside the moguls from the traditional capitalist countries, it now boasts a great deal of previously unknown Russian, Chinese and other mega-rich from different parts of the global village. Who are these people, who control global economy? We'll have a closer look at some of them. And writers' world is also experiencing a pivotal change of 'indie' revolution. It's a little hard to write for the money these days, because the writers' list is not as exclusive as Forbes and have by now probably millions of entries. And very few writers come close to Forbes -:) So many write in the hope to make some impact, to leave a legacy. Here is the perfect place to present your agenda and goals. We shall discuss the writing biz and art, how to fare well while writing (and it's not a trivial thing) and to enjoy these turbulent, but possibly exciting times. Ah, and lastly - it should be fun!
