Then humans started getting curious, they noticed what these creatures could do the humans couldn't, they wanted these creatures powers. They started hunting every different creature they could find. Then they would do experiments on them. But they didn't succeed. Soon all the creatures had fled and have not been seen in the human world since, most of them have become of what we know as myths. The remaining of these mystical creatures found a safe haven. A place where they lived in peace... Mostly. There are still some quarrels here and there. There are also a few humans, who have snuck into this haven and secretly steal creatures, who will you be? Will you cause trouble or keep the peace? Will you experiment or be experimented on? Your choice. Welcome.

Everyone is having a picnic. The sun is shining. The food is good. The conversation is flowing. Then, suddenly a bird flies down and leaves a dropping, ruining the day for everyone. Bookwhacking is doing the same with your book. Going into threads and dropping your book name or cover or blurb without being invited to do so. You fly over, drop the bomb. and leave. Sometimes you stay to add a short comment but the sole purpose of it is to make people think you actually had something to say. In other words, it's finding any reason to push your book in the face of people who were not expecting it.

[close] A group for readers of all genders who wish to broaden their reading horizons by reading more books by women authors. And more women authors that perhaps people haven't heard of before. We currently run two group reads: One monthly group read, each following a different theme (e.g. Classics, Sci-Fi, Translated Fiction, LGBT etc.) with the odd 'Open Choice' month. Every other month we pick a book from a different continent as we attempt to 'Read Around the World' of female authors.
