UNT Dallas has partnered with Eastfield College to offer a summer bridge program to help students prepare for the rigor of college work.   Students will begin their college journey in a supportive, specially designed college credit courses.  The focus is to increase a student’s level of college readiness and awareness through personalized support, professors who are motivated by student success, and lasting educational bonds with other students and program support staff.

Deadline to participate is May 27, 2016.  

Who’s eligible?

  • Recently denied Fall 2016 freshman students who applied to UNT Dallas. 

Objective of the program

For recently denied students, JGP provides an additional pathway to become admitted to UNT Dallas.  Upon successful completion of JGP, the student will be conditionally admitted for the fall term.  

The facts…

JGP is a 6-week program beginning July 06, 2016 – August 17, 2016, Monday – Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (with a 1-hour lunch) held on the campus of UNT Dallas.  Students will enroll in 9 college credit hours:

  • ENGL 1301 – English Composition I (3 credit hours)
  • MATH 1314 – College Algebra (3 credit hours)
  • 3 non-credit based courses that support learning, growth, and transition to college

A grade of C or higher in English 1301 and MATH 1314 will be applied to your academic program at UNT Dallas and most other colleges and universities.  Admissions, registration, and course selection responsibility is shared by the student and the dedicated JGP staff. 

Program cost

Total JGP cost is $450*.  Cost includes tuition, books, supplies and program fee.   Payment options are available.   

Note:  Commit by June 8, 2016 and pay $50 "Reserve My Seat" payment, the total JGP program cost will only $400 total.
