Women's Tennis Questionnaire

We are excited about your interest in the University of North Texas and Mean Green women's tennis.

The 2015-16 season was one of growth as a talented group of freshmen contributed heavily to the North Texas tennis team's success. The Mean Green finished with a 13-10 record and a berth in the Conference USA semifinal round. On the year, North Texas earned a pair of ranked wins - most notably over No. 36 Oklahoma in February - and finished the year with a No. 68 ITA ranking of its own. Freshman Tamuna Kutubidze and senior Agustina Valenzuela led the Mean Green with 13 singles wins in dual play.

In what could be a glimpse into the potential of the Mean Green squad, Kutubidze and fellow freshman Maria Kononova each picked up First Team All-Conference USA accolades while simultaneously combining for a First Team doubles selection. Senior Anastasiya Shestakova earned Second Team All-C-USA honors, good for her third consecutive all-conference honor in the league.

Under head coach Sujay Lama, the tennis team has won three conference championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament three times in the last seven years.
