AZUSA, Calif. -- Senior Bryce McAndrew broke the North Texas outdoor track and field school record in the men’s 5,000-meter run Thursday night at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
McAndrew took down Ron Wakefield’s record set in 1983 after running a school-record time of 14:06.07 to finish 10th at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Sophomore Mike Lowe set a career-best time of 30:33.63 in the men’s 10k at the Mt. SAC Relays Thursday night. Lowe’s time is the third-best mark in school history and best time in five years at North Texas.
Junior Grady Frazier set a personal best time of 14:49.26 in the men's 5k at the Bryan Clay Thursday night.
Senior James Coleman set an outdoor personal best time of 14:40.45 in the men’s 5k at the Bryan Clay Invitational Thursday night. Sophomore Christina Moralez ran a personal best time of 17:43.37 in the women’s 5k at Bryan Clay and it ranks as the fifth-best time in school history.
On Friday, senior Alexander Hita set a personal best time of 1:51.21 in the men’s 800-meter run at the Bryan Clay. Sophomore Zach Kirkland wasn’t far behind with a PR time of 1:52.74 in the 800m.
Senior Susie Kemper ran a career-best time of 4:33.66 in the women’s 1500-meter run at the Bryan Clay. Kemper’s time is the fourth-best performance in school history.
Senior Troy Taylor ran a respectable time of 3:46.37 in the men’s 1500-meter run at the Mt. SAC relays placing 15th.
