Mean Green Radio Network

The Mean Green Radio Network broadcasts North Texas football and basketball games on two radio stations that cover the DFW Metroplex: KHYI 95.3 FM The Range and KNTU-FM 88.1 The Mean Green Radio Network reaches the entire Metroplex and as far north as Oklahoma.

The Mean Green Radio Network reaches 10 million listeners throughout the football and men's basketball season.

With pre-game and post-game shows in every broadcast, North Texas alumni and fans keep their "ear on the ball" thanks to the Mean Green Radio Network.

Each broadcast Mean Green fans are entertained as North Texas alumnus Dave Barnett provides insightful play-by-play alongside Hank Dickenson.

Mean Green Radio Network Bios

Dave Barnett ("Voice of the Mean Green") - Barnett, a two-time Emmy-award winner, took over the play-calling duties for Mean Green football and men's basketball following the retirement of George Dunham in spring, 2015. A native of Denton, a graduate of Denton High and a 1979 graduate of North Texas, Barnett is one of the most reknowned broadcasters to emerge from Bill Mercer's sportscasting program. Before his senior year at North Texas, Barnett landed a job at KRLD in Dallas, and, at just 23 years of age, became the play-by-play man for Dallas Mavericks. Barnett called NBA games for 15 years, seven for Dallas and eight with the San Antonio Spurs. He also called Southwest Conference college football and basketball games, then went to work for ESPN for 13 years before becoming the play-by-play man for the Texas Rangers in 2009. In 2012, Barnett called two North Texas football games for television, and has worked Big 12 college basketball and baseball for Fox Sports. In addition to his North Texas duties, Barnett continues doing national broadcasts for the Westwood One radio network.

Hank Dickenson (Color Analyst) - Dickenson begins his 20th season as color commentator for the Mean Green Radio Network. Dickenson also serves as the deputy athletic director in the North Texas athletic department, coordinator of the Mean Green Radio Network and handles sales responsibilities. He provides color commentary for all football and basketball games. Dickenson also handles the road play-by-play duties for the Mean Green men's basketball team. He is in his 18th season as the road play-by-play voice of North Texas men's basketball. Dickenson has done on-air work at the University of Kansas, Virginia Commonwealth University, Radford University, and Emporia State University.

Steven Bartolotta (Studio Host/Engineer) - Bartolotta, an assistant sports information director in the North Texas athletic department, enters his 11th year as the play-by-play voice for North Texas women's basketball. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of North Texas. Bartolotta has served as the sports director at KNTU during the 2000-01 year and held various positions including play-by-play for high school football and basketball. Bartolotta also has also done various reporting for AP Radio, Sporting News Radio, and The Texas State Network.

Chris Wiley (Statistician Emeritus) - Wiley starts his 14th season as the exclusive statistician for the Mean Green Radio Network for all football games and home basketball games. Wiley has an extensive sports background as he has done statistics for the Texas State Network, Metro Sports, and recently worked statistics for Super Bowl XXXVIII.
