Deborah Fabian joined the Clarinet faculty at the University of North Texas in the fall of 1990. She is Concertmaster of the Dallas Wind Symphony, Principal Clarinetist of the Plano Symphony Orchestra and second clarinetist with the “Music in the Mountains Festival Orchestra” in Durango Colorado.

Ms. Fabian has been featured as a soloist with many ensembles including the Dallas Wind Symphony, Texas Chamber Orchestra and Plano Symphony Orchestra.

Deborah has performed with numerous ensembles throughout the United States and Europe. She performs frequently with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Dallas Opera Orchestra, Fort Worth Symphony and has performed with many other orchestras and ensembles in the United States including Dallas Chamber Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic and the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Fabian can be heard on all of the recordings of the Dallas Wind Symphony and has recorded several times with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The most recent recording with the DSO was the Mahler 6th Symphony in 2013 with Maestro Jaap van Zweden. She has been invited to perform with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra on a number of their tours, including their 2013 and 2003 European tours, 1999 Carnegie Hall performance, Bravo Vail Valley Music Festival, Vail, Colorado and Napa Valley California at the Festival de Sole.

Deborah is in demand as a teacher and clinician. Several of her former students have gained international recognition for their high honor achievements in Music competitions such as From the Top, The International Clarinet Association, and the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts as well as positions in major symphony orchestras.

Deborah earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance and Music Education from the University of Buffalo and a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance/Woodwinds from Michigan State University. Her principal teachers were James Pyne, Stanley Hasty, Fred Ormand and Andrew Crisanti.
