LOST PINES, Texas -- A difficult final round of 296 led to the North Texas men’s golf team finishing in fourth place to complete the regular season at the Jim West Intercollegiate Tuesday at Wolfdancer Golf Club.

The Mean Green had to complete their final round through a two-hour lightning delay and ultimately held on to fourth place with a team score of 296. North Texas, ranked No. 58 in the latest Golfstat rankings, will be hoping to not lose ground after a disappointing final round.

Freshman Ian Snyman carded a final round two-over par 74 to tie for 11th with a three-round total of 216. Classmate Thomas Rosenmueller finished one-shot back with a final round 75 (three-over par) to finish in a tie for 13th.

Junior Cory Churchman had the best round of the day for North Texas with a solid one-over par 73, including four birdies to finish in a tie for 15th. Classmate Alejandro Villasana shot a final round 76 (four-over par) to finish in a tie for 27th with a three round total of 221.

Sophomore Michael Cotton finished with a two-over par 74 and his three-round total of 226 was good for a tie for 45th. Junior Nick Rodriguez, playing as an individual, had his best round of the tournament with an even par 72 and finished in a tie for 20th after pouring in six birdies on the day.

North Texas will now have two weeks to prepare to defend their Conference USA championship being played on April 24-27 at the Texarkana Country Club (the site of last year’s championship) in Texarkana, Texas.
