DENTON, Texas - The Mean Green volleyball unit made quick work of La Tech in its most lopsided victory of the season on senior night, beating the Lady Bulldogs in straight sets to push its C-USA record 6-4.

"I thought our seniors did a great job tonight, they all played at a really high level," head coach Andrew Palileo said. "Our goal tonight was to play well from the start so we could put pressure on La Tech from the beginning."

With a packed house, the seniors, Courtney Windham, Karissa Flack, Shelby Tamura and early graduate Addason Lamb, took part in a dominant win to celebrate their special night.

"This meant everything because it is a celebration of all of the seniors and their hard work this whole season and over the past three years," Tamura said. "Nothing is more important to us than playing as a team. Even though it was dedicated to us, to be able to play as a team and play well means a lot."

Sophomore Carnae Dillard was the leading offensive weapon for North Texas as usual. Her team-high 14 kills propelled her into sole possession of eighth all time in the NT record books for career kills.

Flack added eight kills at a rate of .700, and she will go down as the most efficient player in Mean Green history with a career hitting percentage of .332.

"We won at Rice and got our mojo back, and we are trying to win out," Flack said. "Being here and having a big crowd on senior night, I just feel like our team has a lot of people that support us, and I appreciate the fans a lot. We have a big crowd all of the time because we show passion and have fun."

Despite the big win, North Texas still has a long way to go as four conference matches remain in the season before the C-USA tournament beginning with Tulane on Nov. 3.

"Going forward, Tulane is a great team, and we will have to play better than we did tonight," coach Palileo said. "I think we just have to ready to manage the match on Sunday a little better as well."

The Mean Green will host the Green Wave on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m.
