Scott K. Parks earned bachelor's degrees in journalism and political science from North Texas State University in 1973. He currently serves as managing editor of the Denton Record-Chronicle. Previously, he worked at the Wichita Falls Record-News, Corpus Christi Caller and at The Dallas Morning News, where he spent 20 years as a reporter and editor. He also has served as news director at WIS-TV in Columbia, S.C., and at KOTV in Tulsa, Okla. He and his wife, Cathy, have seven children and three grandchildren.
