Lyndsay works with Director Peter Hyland and CVAD faculty to help realize the details and funding of special projects and events, and to engage with the community outside academia.

Lyndsay Knecht comes to CVAD and the Onstead after ten years in journalism, most recently as Associate Producer for the Dallas-based NPR member station KERA 90.1. There, she served on the team that runs 'Think' with Krys Boyd while recruiting, training and managing interns. Lyndsay was 'Morning Edition' shift producer before she joined the talk show.

For the newsroom, she made pieces exploring pop music, visual art and storytelling in a sociocultural context, earning awards from the Radio Television Digital News Association and the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters for writing and production.

Lyndsay was the original director of publicity for the 35 Denton music festival. In 2010, the year she came on board, 35 was featured on page 1A of the 'Wall Street Journal' for its 8-track tape exhibit and on KUT Public Radio for the event's mission to encourage cultural preservation amid economic development. The festival won the Texas Downtown Association's award for Best Promotional Event in 2011.

Lyndsay's essays and reporting have appeared online for 'D Magazine,' PBS NewsHour, NBCDFW and other outlets. She earned a BA in Creative Writing from the University of North Texas in 2007.
