Bridging academic and industry spheres as a fashion design educator, Associate Professor Li-Fen Anny Chang helps students explore relationships between art and fashion. Her teaching integrates conceptual and analytical thinking with technical skills, and her own creative work serves to illustrate this synthesis for students, whose considerable successes are viewed as an affirmation of her teaching.

Anny has a total of 13 years of industry experience starting in Taipei, Taiwan where she was an Assistant Designer for Graffiti Sportswear (headquarter in Las Angeles) and Designer for Arrow Shirts to Dallas, Texas where she worked for Jerrell, National Spirit Group, and Ann Tobias. While serving as faculty at UNT, Anny’s original designs have been exhibited and recognized at the American Heart Association, BECA– Bridge for Emerging Contemporary Art “Curate This! 2010”, YWCA RAGS Guild Wearable Art, National Make It With Wool, the Queen Sirikit Institute of Sericulture of Thailand, Surface Design Association biannual fashion show in San Antonio, and the International Textile and Apparel Association annual conferences in Honolulu, New Orleans, and New York City. At the 2013 ITAA meeting in New Orleans, she was awarded the Lectra Outstanding Faculty Designer Award, which included a trip to Premier Vision, Paris, France. Anny has remained active through creative projects, exhibitions, freelancing, and professional organization participation.
