Admissions

UNT’s College of Visual Arts and Design (CVAD) is one of the nation’s most comprehensive visual arts schools at a public university, offering 30 undergraduate and graduate degree programs and concentrations in areas ranging from art history to communication design to new media. We have a dynamic college with 14 undergraduate programs in 3 departments. The Art Education and Art History department has Art History, Visual Art Studies and Interdisciplinary Art and Design Studies. The Design department has Communication Design, Design Research, Fashion Design and Interior Design. The Studio Arts department has Ceramics, Drawing & Painting, Fibers, Metalsmithing and Jewelry, New Media Arts, Photography, Printmaking, and Sculpture.

The College of Visual Arts and Design has slightly higher standards for admission than the rest of the university.

Professional academic advisors are available to meet with CVAD undergraduate students regarding pre-major, course selection, degree progress, degree plans and other administrative questions.  Faculty advisors provide advising for graduate students.
