Want to be your own boss? Are you a visionary or a risk taker? Then you should pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship at the University of North Texas.

Potential careers, in addition to being an entrepreneur or business owner, include:

  • General manager/supervisor — setting goals and effectively implementing plans
  • Management training generalist — designing training sessions in developing business models, innovating business processes or increasing efficiency
  • Consultant — providing support on how to write business plans, make business projections or identify opportunities
  • Business analyst — investigating business environments, opportunities, market trends and expansion and growth options.

What we offer

In the Department of Management, our comprehensive program exercises a “learn today, apply tomorrow” classroom philosophy.

Upon graduation, you'll have the practical tools needed to start a business or improve an existing one.

Our curriculum addresses real-world situations, such as:

  • Identifying business opportunities
  • Dealing successfully with managerial and family business challenges
  • Developing a strategic business plan
  • Identifying and capitalizing on international opportunities

Managing finances You'll learn from faculty members known for their innovative teaching, outstanding research and exceptional service to the profession and community.

A Living-Learning Community brings together business students who live on campus to enhance academic and social experiences.

The College of Business' Professional Leadership Program works with corporate partners in the region to get you the skills needed to be competitive in the workforce.

This means the college meets or exceeds strict academic standards for excellence in education.

Our Business Leadership Building accommodates 8,000 students and promotes interaction among students, faculty and industry leaders.

The building — which has Gold-level LEED certification for sustainability — contains 24 classrooms, team study rooms and a state-of-the-art general access computer lab.

What to expect

Your course work will provide an overall understanding of business, including accounting, finance, basic management and other related areas.

In addition, you'll take entrepreneurship courses that provide you with theory and application experiences in the area.

You'll be offered courses in:

  • Business ethics and social entrepreneurship

  • Organizational design
  • Technology management
  • Creativity and opportunity development

The Career Center, Learning Center and professional academic advisors are among the many valuable resources available to you at UNT.

The Career Center can provide advice about internships, future employment opportunities and getting hands-on experience in your major.

The Learning Center offers workshops on speed reading, study skills and time management.

Academic advisors will help you plan your class schedule each semester.

How to enroll at UNT

High school students

We encourage you to fulfill the graduation requirements for the distinguished level of achievement under the Texas Foundation, Recommended or Distinguished Achievement high school program or the equivalent.

In your junior year, take the SAT or ACT and have your scores sent to UNT.

In your senior year, apply for admission at Apply Texas by March 1 and request that your high school transcript be sent to the UNT admissions office.

Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses can count toward college credit at UNT.

Transfer students

If you're attending a Texas community college, you should consult our online transfer guides, the UNT Undergraduate Catalog and an academic counselor or advisor to review your degree plan.

Proper planning will allow you to receive the maximum amount of transfer credits.

Our Transfer Center will help you make a successful transition to college life at UNT by connecting you with a peer mentor and other campus resources.

Each year, 3,800 students transfer to UNT.
