Clinical Professor Teran Celebrated by MALDEF

The 2009 Excellence in Legal Service Award was given to St. Mary's University School of Law Clinical Professor Lee Terán by the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) at their 25th Annual San Antonio Awards Gala on Friday, September 18 at the Westin Riverwalk Hotel. "We are delighted that Professor Terán has been recognized by MALDEF for her impressive work in the area of Immigration litigation," said Ana M. Novoa, St. Mary's associate dean for Clinical Education and Public Interest and professor of Law.
Law School Honored for Commitment to Service

The Texas Access to Justice Commission has selected St. Mary's University School of Law as the 2009 Law School Commitment to Service Award recipient. According to the Commission, this award recognizes the law school that has most distinguished itself by actively educating its students about access to justice issues, thereby carrying forward one the finest traditions of the legal profession in Texas. The Commission identifies St. Mary's University School of Law's commitment to the provision of legal services to the poor as "truly exceptional."
