Our downtown location puts us in the heart of a bustling city, full of major professional and cultural opportunities.

Professional Connections

The College of Law offers great connections to the Dallas legal community.  We are close to the courts, including state civil, criminal, and family courts at the George L. Allen, Sr. Courts Building at 600 Commerce Street; federal courts and federal agencies at the Earl Cabell Federal Building at 1114 Commerce. We are near the Belo Mansion, the beautiful and historic headquarters of the Dallas Bar Association. All around us are large, mid-sized, small, and solo law practices with lawyers who make up as fine a practicing bar as any in the country. We also are close to many dozens of non-profit agencies, groups, and faith communities that address a spectrum of needs and services that often connect with legal issues, including Legal Aid of Northwest Texas, The Bridge, The Stewpot, Crossroads Community Services, CitySquare, and Family Gateway.

The 1892 Old Red Courthouse in downtown Dallas is now a museum of Dallas County history.

Cultural Opportunities

Dallas abounds in cultural attractions. Very close to our campus, the Dallas Arts District is the largest contiguous arts district in the nation and features multiple museums, galleries and performing arts venues and includes no fewer than five buildings designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects:

Food, Shopping & Fun

From law-school-student-budget-friendly eateries to the latest project of the hottest celebrity chef, Dallas is a restaurant mecca. The Big D is also known for high-end shopping. A few blocks from our building (which used to be a department store, too) is the original Neiman Marcus store. If you like a lot of great stores in one place, our city is renowned for its many premier shopping centers, as well. East of downtown, Deep Ellum is where Dallas goes for live music.

Near campus you’ll find a range of restaurants, shops and bars in neighborhoods including:
