VolUNTeer League: Be the Match

Join more than 8,000 students, faculty and staff who have registered with the Be the Match Registry® (the National Marrow Donor Program) at UNT in the last six years.

About Be the Match

VolUNTeer League hosts Be the Match Drives at events throughout the year on campus and host  Cancer Awareness Week each April, with the goal of registering 1,000 people on campus in that week alone.

It only takes just a few minutes to complete the application and register and you could be the person to save someone’s life with a life-threatening blood cancer or other disease by providing a lifesaving marrow or stem cell transplant.

Since the drives have started in the last six years, 30 UNT students and staff have donated to be the hope for someone needing a match!

About Cancer Awareness Week

Cancer Awareness week is held the second week of April every year. This year will be held April 11-15, 2016.

Cancer Awareness Week was started at UNT in 2010 by UNT faculty,  Dr. Rhonda Christensen - watch her video as she meets the donor who was her match!
