Dr. Groom is the former Coordinator for Music Theory for the College of Music at UNT. She studied music theory and composition with Nadia Boulanger and Darius Milhaud. Her research interests lie in twentieth-century analysis as well as principles and methods of theory pedagogy. Groom was a member of the original National Consortium for Computer-Based Music Instruction.
Dr. Groom retired at the end of spring 2012. She will continue to teach the Accelerated Music Theory course in Fall 2012.
