Peter Mondelli joined the division as Assistant Professor of Music History in Fall 2012. He is currently an instructor in the Department of Music History and Literature at West Chester University. He recently completed his doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania under the supervision of Gary Tomlinson, Jeffrey Kallberg, and Carolyn Abbate. His dissertation reexamines the history of opera in nineteenth century Paris from the standpoint of media, critically reassessing the role of print culture in shaping the terms of its production and dissemination. He has presented his research at conferences in the US, UK, and Canada.
