DENTON -- North Texas track and field head coach Carl Sheffield will be speaking at the DFW National Track and Field clinic starting Jan. 8-10 held at the Arlington Hilton.
Coach Sheffield is entering his fourth season as the director of track and field but has been around the North Texas track and field program for 20 years. Sheffield has won six conference championships and is a three-time Coach of the Year honoree. Sheffield holds degrees from UT Arlington (1993) and a master's degree from North Texas (1996).
On the first day of the clinic, Sheffield will be speaking about sprints training and will be demonstrating how to properly teach starting a race on Day two. Sheffield will close the clinic speaking about relays on the final day on Jan. 10.

The North Texas track and field program will begin its season on Jan. 15 at the Texas A&M Indoor meet in College Station.
