Engineers are well-paid professionals, on par with business managers and lawyers. Engineering graduates with bachelor’s degrees have average starting salaries ranging from $55,000 to $60,000, depending on their disciplines. Master’s and doctoral graduates’ salaries are even higher.

The analytical skills learned in engineering can prepare you for numerous professions. Some engineers become top managers, government officials, business owners, journalists, teachers, health professionals or lawyers.

Faculty

UNT’s distinguished College of Engineering faculty members have extensive teaching experience. They receive grants to fund research projects and earn national and international awards. Project-oriented Study

The College of Engineering offers many ways for you to learn about your discipline and evaluate real-world solutions. In your classes, you will work with students in small groups on projects, presentations and problems. You may also complete projects in the college’s many labs such as the electronics, manufacturing, wind tunnel and nanotechnology labs.

Nanoscience and Technology Research Facility

UNT’s College of Engineering owns a focused ion beam microscope, a transmission electron microscope and a local electrode atom probe. This equipment provides capabilities to researchers that are unique among public universities in the nation. Having access to these cutting edge tools gives our students and faculty members a rare advantage.

Location

College of Engineering classes are held in the spacious Discovery Park, UNT’s nearly 290-acre research park in north Denton. The facility is equipped with wireless Internet access so you can freely connect with your laptop or PDA. Discovery Park is near Interstate 35, surrounded by ample parking and readily accessible by the campus shuttle bus.
