Honorary and memorial gifts recognize others through gifts you make to UNT. Gifts made in memory or in honor of a family member, teacher, student or friend are generous and thoughtful ways to create a legacy that pays tribute to his or her accomplishments.
Any form of gift, such as an outright cash donation or one made through the transfer of stocks, may be given in honor or memory of someone. When an honorary or memorial gift is made at UNT, we notify the honoree or his or her next of kin.
How do I submit an honorary or memorial gift?
- Send the gift via mail with a note specifying the honoree's name and address and/or contact information for his or her next of kin. Learn more about how to submit a gift via mail.

To include UNT in an obituary announcement for a loved one, we suggest the following language, which can be tailored to meet your needs:
Memorial contributions may be made through the University of North Texas Foundation Inc. Please direct your contributions to (fund of your choice) in memory of (the name of your friend or loved one).
