Each term, IELI organizes many field trips and social and cultural activities. These activities introduce students to American and world cultures. During the field trips, students explore the surrounding cities, make new friends, and have fun! In addition to the field trips, IELI students participate in many events and parties.
IELI Field Trips
IELI takes students on exciting field trip adventures all over Dallas, Fort Worth, and the surrounding areas. Hrere are some examples:
- Dallas Museum of Art
- Fort Worth Stockyards
- a rodeo
- Fort Worth Zoo
- a dude ranch
- Dallas Mavericks basketball game
- Texas Rangers baseball game
- Cowboys Stadium
- Meyerson Symphony Center (to hear the Dallas Symphony Orchestra)
- camping
- Dallas World Aquarium
IELI Activites and Events
IELI organizes a variety of parties and events during each term, such as:
- IELI New Student Orientation (two days of information and fun!)
- IELI Welcome Party
- various holiday celebrations
- ice cream social
- tour of UNT campus
- shopping trips
- expo on Denton public transportation
UNT Activities and Events
One reason students select the IELI program is the diverse campus environment. The UNT campus in Denton is one of the largest public universities, and there is always something for students to do! IELI students enjoy participating in many campus activities and events, including:
- campus traditions (Homecoming, International Week…and more!)
- student organizations (over 400 organizations)
- movies, film festivals, and lectures
- cultural events
- athletic events
- fitness (workout equipment, personal trainers, and group exercise classes)
- learning something fun (swimming lessons, camping lessons, leadership development…and more!)
- music performances, art exhibits, and massage therapy
- volunteer events
