ANIMALS IN UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS BUILDINGS, LEASED FACILITIES AND ON-CAMPUS PROPERTIES (9.8.1)
To promote the comfort, health and safety of the University of North Texas community by establishing guidelines on the presence of animals in university facilities and on university property.

BIOSAFETY POLICY (16.12.3.4)
This policy establishes responsibility for the proper use of biohazardous agents, potentially hazardous human materials, and recombinant DNA molecules in research and other educational activities at the University of North Texas (UNT) in order to protect students, faculty, staff, the community, and the environment.

CLOSING OF CAMPUSES DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS (10.2)
The University of North Texas Denton and/or Dallas campuses will remain open unless weather conditions are such that the majority of students, faculty, and staff are unable to reach their respective campus due to severe weather or impassable road conditions. The Denton/Dallas campuses may also close if a critical shortage of energy occurs.

DOT DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING OF COMMERCIAL DRIVERS (1.2.14)
The University is required to conduct post-accident, random, and reasonable suspicion testing for alcohol and pre-employment/pre-duty, post accident, random, and reasonable suspicion testing for controlled substances of each applicant for employment or employee who is required to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.  (A Commercial Driver’s License/CDL is required for drivers of vehicles designed to transport 16 or more passengers including the driver, drivers of trucks weighing at least 26,000 pounds, and drivers of trucks of any size carrying hazardous materials.)   Covered employees are prohibited from refusing to take a required test.  Employees whose test results confirm prohibited alcohol concentration levels or the presence of a controlled substance, or who refuse testing, are subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

FOOD SAFETY (9.13)
It is the policy of the University of North Texas (UNT or University) to comply with the Texas Department of State Health Services rules on food service sanitation. This policy outlines the University standards on preparing or handling food to prevent disease, protect health and promote safe food practices for food served on UNT property.
All university food facilities, temporary food events and mobile food establishments.

Insurance is a risk financing technique basic for managing risk. The University purchases insurance to manage certain risk exposures to personnel and property.

RADIATION SAFETY POLICY (16.12.3.5)
This policy establishes responsibility for the proper receipt, possession, use, and transfer of sources of radiation and lasers by University of North Texas faculty, staff and students, in order to reduce potential exposure in excess of standards prescribed by federal and state regulations. Nothing in this policy shall be construed as limiting actions that may be necessary to protect health and safety.

WORKER'S COMPENSATION INSURANCE (1.5.4)
It is the policy of the University of North Texas (the "University") to provide Workers' Compensation Insurance for all employees, under the provisions of the Workers' Compensation Act for Texas State employees.  The purpose of this policy is to provide protection against injuries and occupational illness or diseases that naturally arise during the course and scope of employment.
