Paul Kessler will speak about his experience as a child during the holocaust at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 17 at the Eagle Student Services Center, Room 255.

A question-and-answer session will follow his talk, titled “Hidden Child of the Holocaust.”

Admission is free.

Kessler was 5 years old when the Nazi armies entered Slovakia, where he was born. He and his mother survived the Holocaust for a long period by hiding in a hole dug by farmers, while his father was in one of the first groups to be sent to the Auschwitz concentration camp. Kessler recounts his Holocaust experience with the hope that it will influence others to stand and speak out against hate and prejudice.

In 1951, he immigrated to Los Angeles. He served in the U.S. Army and then worked for American Express, holding management posts in North America and Europe. Kessler speaks to student groups visiting the Dallas Holocaust Museum, local schools and other area organizations.
