Charn Uswachoke International Development Fund awardees announced

Charn UswachokeThe Charn Uswachoke Fund provides resources for high-impact international activities, including hosting high-impact visiting scholars, catalyzing study abroad; creating innovative curriculum with international foci, and increasing UNT's linkages with top-tier international partners.

29 proposals were submitted for Charn awards, and nine have been awarded. They are:

  • Yong Tao and Xiaohua Li, Mechanical and Energy Engineering: Development of an International, Collaborative Course on Alternative Energy Between UNT and Top Chinese Universities
  • Xiangli Gu, KHPR: International Development Program with East China Normal University
  • Doug Henry and Lisa Henry, Anthropology: Proposal for a Field School/Study Abroad to Apia, Western Samoa
  • Greta Buehrle, CVAD: Border Crossings, Faculty Exchange in Slovenia and Scotland
  • Nancy Nelson, Teacher Education & Administration: Texas-Jalisco Educational Collaborative
  • Andrew May, Music: International Confederation for Electroacoustic Music Conference
  • Jeff Bradetich, Music: International Visiting Pedagogues/Performers Exchange with Central & South America
  • Neilesh Bose, History: Digital Humanities Graduate Student Fellowships, Oral History, and Digital Humanities in an International Context
  • Lawrence Willians, World Langauges, Literatures & Cultures: Curriculum Development & Initiating Long-Term Partnerships in Morocco

The RFP for Charn Fund grants is released in spring each year.
