Be prepared for severe weather

oldest tornadoApril 1, 2014

With severe weather season once again upon us, students, staff and faculty should review their plans for when severe weather strikes. The best way to protect yourself and those around you during severe weather is to stay informed and be ready to take action. To be prepared, you should:

  1. Stay alert – know where to go for up-to-date weather information
  2. Have a plan – know where you will go when severe weather strikes
  3. Get Eagle Alerts - update your contact information each semester at my.unt.edu
  4. Sign Up for Code Red – provide your contact information to the City of Denton’s high speed telephone communication for emergency notification.

UNT Emergency Management also has published its new website to provide additional tools to help you prepare for emergencies on campus.

If you are interested in becoming more involved and learning about what you can do to protect yourself and those around you during severe weather or other emergencies, contact UNT’s Emergency Management staff by email or by phone at 940-369-8130 or 940 369-5147.
