UNT panel discussion to address political turmoil in Ukraine

A panel discussion,“Russian Aggression Against Ukraine: Why? Why Does it Matter” is planned for 4 p.m. March 6 in Wooten Hall, Room 122.

The discussion features experts in political science, history and international studies addressing the political turmoil unfolding in Ukraine — the anti-government protests that culminated in the overthrow of Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych, and the subsequent capture of the Crimean Peninsula by Russian military troops.

Panelists are:

  • John Ishiyama, professor of political science at UNT
  • Anna Batta, lecturer of international studies at SMU and 2013 graduate of UNT’s doctoral degree program in political science
  • Olga Velikanova, associate professor of history at UNT
