Child Development and Education

Education majorThe Child Development and Education Living-Learning Community experience is designed for students majoring in:

  • Development and Family Studies
  • Interdisciplinary Studies - this major means teaching students Early Childhood through 6th grade or 4th through 8th grade (different subject areas)

Being a part of this community will allow you the opportunity to:

  • Be surrounded by others of your same major with similar academic interests
  • Opportunities to meet with your Academic Advisor at more convenient times
  • A Staff Mentor who will connect you with academic support
  • Potential field trips to interact with children and families out in the community
  • Service opportunities through team-building in campus events and student organizations

Having a Staff Mentor also allows you the chance to get to know someone who can be integral in helping you succeed here at UNT. Staff Mentors are great resources for when you have questions, and especially to open your eyes to your potential in your first year here at UNT.

The Child Development and Education Living-Learning Community is housed in Kerr Hall for the 2016 - 2017 year.
