North Texas Sports Medicine And Rehabilitation

In 2005, the North Texas Sports Medicine Department moved into a new headquarters in the Athletic Center, putting it in the middle of the Mean Green’s student-athletes with a greatly expanded facility at their disposal.

The Sports Medicine Center is sponsored by Fit-N-Wise, providing the tools Mean Green trainers, doctors and student trainers need to guide student-athletes back to health after injury or illness. Fit-N-Wise is part of the Wise Health System, providing financial and medical support for NT's sports medicine program.

The Center is also the headquarters for North Texas’s athletic training program, which has produced numerous successful professionals in the sports medicine field. North Texas alums are practicing in all disciplines of sports medicine, including high school and collegiate athletics, private sports medicine clinics and professional sports.

The program is proud to have ties to six National Athletic Trainers' Association Hall of Fame members and is focused on developing its student athletic trainers into exceptional additions to the athletic-training profession. By providing students with the clinical experiences to accompany their academic foundation, each student athletic trainer develops the necessary qualifications to become a certified athletic trainer.
