Position:

The Department of Teacher Education and Administration invites applications for an open rank, tenure-track position to begin in Fall, 2016. Summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding. The successful candidate will join a dedicated Educational Leadership faculty with programs leading to principal certification, superintendent certification, and M.Ed., Ed.D., and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Leadership. S/he will also serve as the Mike Moses Endowed Chair in Educational Leadership.

 

Rank and Salary:

Open rank. Salary is competitive, commensurate with experience and background.

   

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the continued development and success of the department through research, teaching, and mentoring of students. As a member of the faculty and holder of the Mike Moses Chair, candidates will be expected to maintain an already well-established record of scholarly research and external funding through grants.  In addition, candidates will be expected to engage in teaching and to contribute service to the department, College of Education, and the University of North Texas.  Instructional roles include teaching graduate courses in Educational Leadership.  The successful candidate will also be expected to continue an ongoing research agenda in an area of specialization, including regular publications in quality outlets, professional presentations, and submission of external grant proposals. Service on dissertation committees, including the chairing of dissertations, is expected.

   

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership or a closely related field (e.g., educational policy or educational administration).  Administrative experience in EC-12 public schools and experience with diverse/ bilingual populations, specifically Spanish-speaking populations, are preferred.  Preference will also be given to candidates who currently hold one or more large external grants and who meet UNT criteria for a tenured professor of upper rank.
