Spring 2016 - 8 Week Sessions

Two 8 Week Sessions are offered within the term. Each session will have individual academic calendars and grade reporting periods.

The session dates for the Spring semester are:

8 Week Session 1: January 19 - March 11
8 Week Session 2: March 21 - May 13

October 9, 2015

Registration for Spring 8 Week Session 1 begins. See Registration Schedule for more information.

November 15

Last day for all prospective graduate students and all former graduate students (those who have not been enrolled at least once during the 12 consecutive months prior to the semester for which they are seeking admission and/or who have received a degree from UNT since their last enrollment) to submit a graduate admission application for regular registration.

December 1

Last day for graduate students to request change of major in the graduate dean's office prior to registration.

January 7

Fee payment deadline is 5:00 p.m. for registration that has occurred from October 9 - 4:30 p.m., January 7.

4:30 p.m. - 11:59 p.m. - Registration access is temporarily unavailable due to mandatory processing.

January 14

Fee payment deadline is 6:00 p.m. for registration that has occurred from 12:00 a.m., January 8 - 5:30 p.m., January 14.

Last day for applications for graduate admissions to be accepted.

January 18

Last day for 100 percent refund. See more information about refunds.

January 19

Classes Begin

January 21

Last day for 80 percent refund of tuition only if withdrawing from the session (dropping all courses). See more information about refunds.

January 22

Census date.

Last day for 50 percent refund of tuition only if withdrawing from the 8 Week Session 1 (dropping all classes). See more information about refunds.

Last day to drop a course (not withdrawing from the semester) and receive refund. Subsequent drops require instructor's written consent.

January 25

Beginning this date, a student who wishes to drop an 8 Week Session 1 course must first receive written consent of the instructor. A grade of W is assigned.

February 5

Last day for a change in pass/no pass status on 8 Week Session 1 courses.

Last day to drop a course or withdraw from the university with a grade of W for courses that the student is not passing. After this date, a grade of WF may be recorded.

Note: Dropping all courses constitutes withdrawing from the university for the semester. Must see Dean of Students.

February 6

Beginning this date, instructors may drop students with grade of WF for nonattendance.

February 12

Mid semester.

February 22

Beginning this date, a student who qualifies may request a grade of I. See the Graduate Catalog for more information.

February 23

Last day for a student to drop a course with consent of the instructor.

February 26

Last day for an instructor to drop a students with a grade of WF for nonattendance.

Last day to withdraw from 8 Week Session 1. Process must be completed by 5:00 p.m. in the Dean of Students Office.

March 11

Final Exams.

8 Week Session 1 Ends.

May 13

Registration ends and fee payment deadline is 12:00 p.m. for registration that has occurred from 12:00 a.m., Oct 9 - 11:30 a.m., March 18.

March 20

March 21

March 23

Last day for 80 percent refund of tuition only if withdrawing from the session (dropping all courses). See more information about refunds.

March 24

Census date.

Last day for 50 percent refund of tuition only if withdrawing from 8 Week Session 2 (dropping all classes). See more information about refunds.

Last day to drop a course (not withdrawing from the semester) and receive refund. Subsequent drops require instructor's written consent.

March 25

Beginning this date, a student who wishes to drop an 8 Week Session 2 course must first receive written consent of the instructor. A grade of W is assigned.

Last day for departments to report to the graduate dean's office the results of final comprehensive examination for graduating master's students.

Last day for master's and doctoral candidates to complete foreign language requirement for degree (If applicable).

April 8

Last day for a change in pass/no pass status on 8 Week Session 2 courses.

Last day to drop a course or withdraw from the university with a grade of W for courses that the student is not passing. After this date, a grade of WF may be recorded.

April 9

Beginning this date, instructors may drop students with grade of WF for nonattendance.

April 14

Final Exams.

8 Week Session 2 Ends.

Spring Term ends.

Fee Payment

Bills will not be mailed for the Spring semester. Go to the Student Center online at my.unt.edu for your account balance and schedule information. Account balance information will be available at my.unt.edu once you complete registration. Go to the myUNT Student Center to view your bill.

Fee payment arrangements must be completed by the deadlines stated above, or your registration requests will be canceled and you will not be registered.
