Need to take the GRE? The Learning Center can help! We now offer a GRE Prep workshop designed to help you become familiar with the structure of the test, types of questions you will encounter, material tested, useful strategies for studying, and what to expect the day of the test. These workshops are free and open to all current UNT students.

Online Test Prep Resources

  • Khan Academy offers tutorials, practice questions, and mastery challenges for mulitple levels of math. They also have video series specifically designed for students preparing for the GMAT and MCAT.
  • The GRE Math Conventions is published by ETS and designed to familiarize students with all of the concepts, definitions, and formuals they are expected to know when taking the GRE.
  • The GRE Math Review provides a basic review of all the concepts included in the Mathematical Conventions. This document is also published by ETS.
  • Need to practice your analytical writing skills? You can find the entire list of issue and argument topics on the ETS website.
  • GMAT provides a downloadable list of all possible Analytical Writing Assessment topics. You can also view a sample essay topic and response here. Or, access sample questions for the integrated reasoning, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning portions here.

  • UNT's Center for Achievement and Lifelong Learning offers online GRE and LSAT minicourses. There are two courses for each test, and each course is 24 hours long. Registration is $93 per course (current UNT faculty, staff, and students are eligible for a discounted rate).   • The AAMC offers a series of free videos, documents, and tutorials for the pre-health competencies tested on the MCAT. You are required to create an AAMC account to access the materials. For more information, visit the iCollaborative page.
  • Looking for an on-the-go test prep tool to fit into your busy schedule? Try Benchprep. Test preparation materials for over 30 exams are offered here and available via web and mobile.
  • Another on-the-go option would be iTunes GRE Vocabulary Flashcards. Master the 1000 most important GRE vocabulary words with these pre-made flashcards that are free for you!
