Assistant Athletics Communications Director

Amy Ruggini is entering her 12th year as an assistant athletics communications director, working primarily with the North Texas publications, MeanGreenSports.com and overseeing the publicity of all 16 sports.She also works with the women's soccer team.

She oversees the maintanance of MeanGreenSports.com, the official web site of North Texas Athletics. She oversaw the initial launch in 2004 and the redesigns in 2009 and 2010. Ruggini also oversaw the move to CBS Interactive in 2013 and the new website launch.

Prior to coming to North Texas, Ruggini was a graduate assistant in the Syracuse University Athletic Communications office from 2001-03. She received her master's degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in public relations. Ruggini worked numerous national events, including the 2002 NCAA Men's Basketball Regionals and the 2003 NCAA Final Four for women's lacrosse. She also took part in March Madness when the men's basketball team won the national title in 2003.

Ruggini graduted from American University in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in public communications. She played on the women's soccer team and was a student assistant with the women's basketball team at American. Following graduation, she did a year-long internship at Yale University.
