  • MUET_StudentAmerican Association of University Women
    • American Association of University Women is the largest source of funding exclusively for graduate women in the world, supports aspiring scholars around the globe, teachers and activists in local communities, women at critical stages of their careers, and those pursuing professions where women are underrepresented.
  • American-Scandinavian Foundation
    • The American-Scandinavian Foundation offers fellowships and grants to individuals interested in pursuing research or study in one or more Scandinavian countries for up to one year. These awards are offered to those who have completed their undergraduate education by the start of their program in Scandinavia.
  •  API Scholarships
    • In order to apply, must be attending an API program. Only API students are eligible for the API Scholarships:
      • API First Generation Scholarship – Students who are the first in their families to attend a college or university are eligible to apply. The scholarship ($750) is awarded to one deserving semester or academic year student.
      • API STEM Scholarship – Students who are studying science, technology, engineering or mathematics are eligible to apply. The scholarship, in the amount of $750, will be awarded to one deserving semester or academic year student.
      • API/JCU Early Bird Scholarship – Students who are interested in studying abroad with API at John Cabot University in Rome now have the opportunity to earn this scholarship. It ranges from $200-$350 off of their program fee, simply by applying to the program in advance of the application deadlines. See their website for more details.
      • API/JCU Diversity Scholarship – Students who are interested in studying at John Cabot University. The scholarship provides one full tuition scholarship per session abroad (Fall, Spring, Summer 1, Summer 2) to an outstanding minority student to encourage diversity at the JCU campus.
      • API Gilman Matching Scholarship – Students participating on an API program who have been awarded a Gilman scholarship will be eligible to receive up to $1,000 in matching contributions from API. To receive the API Gilman Matching Scholarship, Gilman winners should indicate their scholarship details on their financial aid information after acceptance to an API study abroad program.
      • API General Scholarships – These scholarships are need and merit-based. They range from $250-$1,000.

  • Bridging Scholarship
    • The Bridging Project provides scholarship opportunities to American undergraduate students participating in study-abroad programs in Japan.
    • Bridging Scholarship recipients receive a stipend of $2,500 (for students on semester-long programs) or $4,000 (for students on academic year programs). Students studying in Japan on summer programs are not eligible to apply.
  • BUTEX International Scholarship
    • The BUTEX International Scholarship is open to undergraduate students. To be eligible to apply you must have been offered a study abroad or exchange place at a UK university or college which is BUTEX-affiliated. If you are not sure whether your "university abroad" is BUTEX-affiliated, please see the website under the members tab.
  • Chinese Government Scholarship
    • The Chinese Government Scholarship provides a full scholarship to study in China for a minimum of 1 year or up to a maximum of four years.  No prior knowledge of Chinese is required.  The scholarship can be used for graduate degree programs taught in English or Chinese (Master and Doctoral level) or non-degree programs (Chinese Language Studies Certificate).  More than 200 Chinese universities participate in the Chinese Government Scholarship program.  The scholarship typically provides registration fee, tuition, laboratory fee, internship and learning materials.  Additionally, the scholarship provides accommodation, monthly living allowance, insurance, and a one-time settlement subsidy.  Applications are due around end of March.
       
  • Consumer Affairs International Scholarship
    • The Consumer Affairs International Scholarship is open to non-UK citizens enrolled at an accredited two- or four-year college or university.  The scholarship will provide £1,000 (click here to see amount in U.S. dollars) to complete studies in the UK.  Students with an avid interest in public policy, finance, or economics are encouraged to apply.  Application deadline is in late April for summer/fall studies students and in December for Spring studies students.
  • Critical Language Scholarship Program
    • The Critical Language Scholarship Program is open to undergraduate and graduate level students from any major who are U.S. citizens. The CLS Program is funded by the U.S. Department of State and provides full funding (airfare, tuition, room and board, insurance, visa fees, and stipend) for students to participate in a seven- to ten-week critical language summer program.   Eligibility requirements vary depending on language of study.  Visit the CLS Program website to see critical languages and application requirements.
  • Diversity Abroad Scholarships
    • Diversity Abroad is not just one scholarship but many. This is another search engine for students to use when searching for scholarships.
  • Fulbright Scholarships
    • Fulbright Scholarships are for both Americans going abroad and incoming foreign students. Grants are made to citizens of participating countries, primarily for: university teaching, advanced research, graduate study and teaching in elementary and secondary schools.

  • Fund for Education Abroad
    • Fund for Education Abroad offers scholarships to US citizens or permanent residents currently enrolled as undergraduates in US universities/colleges who plan to study abroad for at least four weeks between May 2014 and May 2015. Students can be awarded up to $10,000. Up to 15 scholarships can be awarded.
  • German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
    • The German Academic Exchange Service, or DAAD, offers scholarships to undergraduate students for study abroad in Germany regardless of your field of study. These scholarships are offered for up to ten months during the German academic year; is a flexible scholarship program which offers SHORT-TERM scholarships for participation in summer study abroad, internships, senior thesis research or summer courses at German universities and LONG-TERM scholarships for semester or year study abroad.
  • Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program
    • The Gilman Scholarship program is awarded to undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding on study abroad programs worldwide.  Students are eligible to receive up to $5,000 for credit bearing study abroad programs, including research and internships.
  • Institute of Turkish Studies (ITS)
    • Institute of Turkish Studies is the only non-profit, private educational foundation in the United States that sports the development of Turkish Studies in American higher education.
  • MUET_StudentLaura Bush Travelling Fellowship
  • The Fellowship is intended to help fund a proposal designed by a student to conduct brief work in a foreign country related to the mandate of UNESCO - using education, natural sciences, social and human sciences, culture, and/or communication and information to build strong ties among nations. The fellowship is open to US citizens (ages 18-25) enrolled in a college or university who express an interest in international collaboration but have not had many opportunities to travel abroad.   • The National Security Education / Boren Scholarships
    • The National Security Education Program (NSEP, also known as the Boren Awards) provides a unique funding opportunity for U.S. students to study world regions critical to U.S. interests (including Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the Middle East).
    • Boren Scholarships provide up to $20,000 to U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad in areas of the world that are critical to U.S. interests and underrepresented in study abroad.
    • NSEP was designed to provide Americans with the resources and encouragement they need to acquire skills and experiences in areas of the world critical to the future security of our nation, in exchange for a commitment to seek work in the federal government.
  • Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Grants
    • Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Forty-Five $1,000 grants are awarded each year. Society Membership not required.
  • Rotary Foundation Grants
    • Rotary Grants support a wide variety of projects, scholarships, and training around the world.  Depending on the type of grant, students may need to apply up to a year and half before going abroad.  Award amounts vary depending on the type of grant.
  • Scholarships for International Students in Japan
  • The Snowdon Awards Scheme
    • The Snowdon Awards Scheme every year, grants are provided to students who have a physical or sensory disability and will be studying at a university in the UK. Grants range from £250 to £2,500 and help cover additional costs, like computers, mobility equipment or human help that push up the already high costs of being a student.
  • Study Abroad Turkey Scholarships for Minority Students
    • Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) in collaboration with Diversity Abroad has established a grant program to encourage African American, Hispanic/Latino and Native American undergraduate students in the United States to participate in a study abroad program in Turkey.
  • ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship
    • ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship is for a research stay in Switzerland. It supports highly motivated and qualified U.S. undergraduate and graduate students to do research at a public Swiss university or research institute for 2 to 3 months. The scholarship is open to students of all fields.
  • University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria
    • Grants will be awarded to students for one semester for study and/or internships in order to encourage students with a genuine interest in study abroad who do not have sufficient financial resources to apply for an exchange at UAS Upper Austria. The scholarships will be awarded to students with good academic standing and a desire to improve their language skills. We also seek to support the exchange balance with our partner institutions. Student may be award up to 550 Euros per month.  Program Application
