Final Results 
ARLINGTON -- Senior Chastity Stewart took home three podium finishes, including a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles helping North Texas track and field perform strong Saturday at the UTA Invitational.
The Mean Green put together one of their best overall meets with 34 top-10 finishes, two second-place marks, three third place finishes and one title (Stewart – 400m hurdles).
“Great ‘preseason’ type meet for us at UTA,” head coach Carl Sheffield said. “It gave us another chance to look at our team from different competition events. April will be our opportunity to get race ready for the conference and championship season in June.”
Senior Chastity Stewart continues to make her mark in the outdoor season coming away with a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.21. She also placed third in the 100-meter hurdles finishing third and first among collegiate competitors with a time of 13.47.
“Chastity Stewart continues her assault on the all-time performance list with another fantastic start in the 400-meter hurdles,” added Sheffield.
In the women’s 4x100 meter relay, North Texas finished second after Stewart, classmate Nadiyah El-Amin, junior Jazmine Martin and Landry touched in at 45.41.
“This 4x100 relay team is starting to put things together,” said Sheffield. “Fast relay teams are all about chemistry and having a trust in one another.”
North Texas placed four sprinters in the top-10 in the 200-meter dash, including Martin leading the way in second place at 25.07. Sophomore Siara Obasuyi finished just outside the top-3 in fourth place with a time of 25.30. Senior Mona Landry came in fifth place (25.39) and freshman Bria Williams was 10th with a time of 25.86.
In the men’s 200-meter dash, junior Collin Heard led the way with a fifth-place finish, fourth best time among collegiate competitors with a time of 21.05. Senior Connor Bey set a personal best time of 21.34 in the 200m placing 10th.
The throwers had an eventful meet earning a bunch of personal bests, senior Tori Clark finished just outside the top three in the women’s hammer throw with a season-best mark of 52.79 meters (173-02 feet). Classmate Ngozi Nweke placed ninth with an outdoor season-high throw of 46.42m (152-03 feet). Nweke fired a career-best mark in the discus placing fifth at 48.87 meters (160-04 feet).
Senior Riley Donovan made his outdoor debut with a fourth-place finish in the men’s hammer throw with a personal best throw of 52.58 meters (172-06 feet). Sophomore Kevone Kennedy came in sixth place with a throw of 51.36 meters. Kennedy took home a third-place finish with a career-best throw of 51.07 meters (167-07 feet) in the discus.
Senior Alexander Hita picked up a podium finish coming in third in the men’s 800 meter run with a time of 1:52.67. Sophomore Zach Kirkland came away with a top-five finish in the 800m at 1:54.15.
Senior Eddie Wilcox fell just short of a third-straight high jump title placing third with a season-high outdoor mark of 2.15 meters (7-00.50 feet).
“We will get some rest this week while preparing for the prestigious Texas Relays in Austin,” said Sheffield.

-Landry finished seventh among collegiate sprinters in the women’s 100 meter dash at 11.92
-Joe (10.54) and Heard (10.58) both finished inside the top-10 among collegiate competitors in the men’s 100 meter dash
-Freshman Baylee Nelson took sixth in the women’s 800 meter run with a time of 2:16.79 and sophomore Victoria Junious was ninth at 2:18.03
-Sophomore Chelsea Crayton placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.75
-Senior Derek Richard finished fifth in the men’s pole vault at 4.70 meters (15-05.00 feet)
What's Next
North Texas will have a quick turnaround competing in the famous Texas Relays starting Wednesday, March 30 in Austin.
