Dillard Wins Final SBC Player of the Week Nod

DENTON, Texas – North Texas outside hitter Carnae Dillard was once again named the Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Mean Green to its second division title in three years over the weekend.

NT entered the weekend needing a pair of wins to take the SBC West Division crown, and the freshman was a heavy contributor to making that happen. The award is her second SBC weekly award this year.

The outside-hitter posted 5.43 kills, 3.86 digs and .057 blocks per set to lead the Mean Green to a four-set win over ASU and a sweep over UALR. Dillard tallied double-doubles in both matches, which included 20 kills and 14 digs, and 18 kills and 13 digs. She also racked up a pair of blocks in both matches.

On the season, Dillard ranks third in the conference with 3.87 kills per set. She’ll look to be on point on Thursday when the third-seeded Mean Green take on No. 6 Middle Tennessee at 2:30 p.m. in the first round of the SBC Championships.
