Mean Green Volleyball Falls At TCU




FORT WORTH, Tex. (9/27/05) -- The North Texas volleyball team (6-11) suffered a 30-25, 30-25, 30-25 setback to TCU (11-4) Tuesday night in its final match before starting Sun Belt Conference play this weekend.

North Texas, which is 6-3 over its last nine outings, had a two-match road winning streak snapped in its first of four consecutive matches away from the Snake Pit. NT entered the match having posted at least a .200 attack percentage in six of its last eight matches, but hit over .100 in just the second game. The Mean Green finished with 38 kills, while TCU posted 47.

The Mean Green was led by Katy Prokof and Catherine Coffey with a team-high eight kills each. Coffey also added a team-high six blocks, marking her fourth straight match with at least five blocks. Ashley Bass recorded a team-high 33 assists and Jessica Hulsebosch finished with 11 digs.

The Mean Green will play South Alabama on Friday at 7 p.m. in its first Sun Belt Conference match of the season.
