Mean Green Volleyball Defeats TAM-Corpus Christi 3-0

CORPUS CHRISTI (9/16/03) -- The North Texas volleyball team (7-6) hit a school-record .493 in a 3-0 (30-24, 30-11, 30-14) victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3-7) Tuesday night.

Senior outside hitter Corina Marginas (Brasov, Romania) led the North Texas attack with a match-high 17 kills while hitting a career-high .591. Marginas was the only NT player to record double-figure kills, but six players hit at least .300. As a team, NT recorded 43 kills in 67 attacks with just 10 errors.

The Islanders struggled to mount much offense, actually posting a negative hitting percentage at -.051. That percentage is the lowest allowed by the Mean Green this season. TAMCC was led by Melanie Travis with 13 kills and a .250 hitting percentage, but she was one of just three Islanders that posted a positive attack percentage.
